In view of rising prices and diminishing resources worldwide, the efficient use of energy is becoming increasingly important. Growing energy demand combined with limited natural resources presents every company with the challenge of using energy efficiently and economically.
Climate change also has a direct and indirect impact on the company. Among other things, the availability of natural fibres such as cotton may be affected. Extreme weather events such as droughts or floods can influence harvests and lead to higher raw material prices. Climate change also results in new environmental regulations and emissions requirements. trigema must adapt to new legal requirements, for example in the area of CO2 emissions and requirements relating to materials and raw materials.
With this energy policy, Trigema W. Grupp KG commits to reducing its energy consumption over the long term and to continuously improving its energy efficiency and energy-related performance.
We also commit to complying with relevant energy legislation and to continuously improving the reliable and economical provision and use of energy within our company.
To implement these objectives, we are introducing an energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001 and are implementing all requirements of this standard correctly and comprehensively throughout all areas of our company.
Our main objective is the continuous improvement of energy efficiency, energy use, the energy management system and process technology. This is achieved using the best possible technology.
Continuous improvements in efficiency are supported, for example, through the standardisation of energy-efficient machinery and equipment, energy-saving motors and lighting, as well as the installation of frequency converters.
We also ensure that:
- the necessary financial, personnel, technical and structural requirements are secured;
- compliance with relevant legal obligations is taken into account;
- the internal organisation for monitoring and implementing energy-related aspects is continuously improved;
- all employees are involved in the implementation of the energy management system, are fully informed and responsibilities are clearly defined;
- all employees, including external contractors and service providers, are made aware of energy-conscious behaviour in the workplace or at the respective place of deployment;
- energy is used economically and responsibly within the company so that energy resources are used as sparingly as possible;
- the energy efficiency of the equipment and processes used is taken into account when manufacturing our products and introducing new production and product-processing methods;
- technical measures to improve energy and cost efficiency in production facilities and loading operations are implemented correctly;
- energy efficiency is taken into account when procuring products and services, and energy-related performance is incorporated into long-term planning;
To ensure and achieve our objectives, we:
- regularly collect and evaluate energy data;
- record energy flows wherever possible and economically viable, keeping them transparent and up to date;
- plan and implement energy-saving measures;
- evaluate the results of energy-saving measures at regular intervals;
- review results through energy audits;
- hold energy team meetings and have the results of energy performance assessed by management as part of a management review.
Our organisation ensures that all information required to achieve these objectives is available. The energy policy adopted by us forms the framework for the strategic and operational individual objectives that have been defined.
An annual budget is also made available. The prerequisite is that existing resources and time are used as effectively as possible and that a pragmatic approach is adopted.
The individuals responsible for optimisation and implementation are also members of the energy team and coordinate with management at least once a year regarding projects and relevant topics.
We regularly communicate this energy policy to our employees, suppliers and service providers. Every year, we commit to reviewing our energy policy and initiating any necessary corrections.
Our operational objectives are:
- to purchase energy sources at the most economical cost
- to use energy sources as efficiently as possible
- to record the greenhouse gas emissions resulting from our energy consumption and assess potential reductions
- wherever possible, to assess and implement the use of renewable energy sources
Our strategic objective is:
We aim to gain greater control over our energy consumption by regularly reviewing our purchasing and operating practices and continuously improving them wherever possible. We also aim to identify optimisation opportunities more quickly through automated and intelligent monitoring using measurement and control technology and to implement them more efficiently.
Our energy management objective is:
Our aim is to provide evidence of systematic energy management and energy-related performance in production, both for internal processes and for our customers and partners. We also aim to minimise the high energy costs incurred in meeting operational energy requirements, particularly in production.
The energy management system requires the participation of all employees.
Trigema W. Grupp KG commits to identifying and documenting existing potential for improving energy efficiency and reducing costs. To this end, an energy concept has been developed together with our partner company Alois Müller GmbH since 2022. It is being implemented step by step and continuously developed further.
Through regular dialogue, we work together to use energy as efficiently and responsibly as possible. Our focus is not limited to short-term savings potential. When investing in machinery, equipment and other assets, we also consider their long-term impact on energy consumption and the environment. This means that solutions may also be selected that are initially more expensive to purchase but can enable more efficient energy use and reduce environmental impacts over the long term.
The measures derived from these analyses are reviewed for their effectiveness and developed further where necessary. At the same time, Trigema W. Grupp KG monitors current technical developments in order to transfer suitable solutions to its own operational processes. In this way, the energy management system is continuously improved. If changes to the energy policy become necessary, it will be adjusted accordingly. The energy policy is reviewed at least once a year to determine whether amendments are required.
