In view of rising prices and dwindling global resources, the responsible use of energy is particularly important. Growing energy demand combined with limited natural resources presents every company with the challenge of using energy efficiently, economically, and in an environmentally friendly manner.
Climate change also has a direct and indirect influence on the company. Among other things, the availability of natural fibers such as cotton can be impaired. Extreme weather events such as droughts or floods can affect harvests and lead to higher raw material prices. Furthermore, climate change leads to increasingly strict environmental regulations and emission requirements. Trigema must adapt to new legal requirements, such as the reduction of CO2 emissions or the use of sustainable materials and raw materials.
With this energy policy, Trigema W. Grupp KG commits to reducing its energy and resource consumption in the long term and to increasing energy efficiency and its energy-related performance in a continuous improvement process.
Furthermore, we commit to complying with relevant energy legislation and to the continuous improvement of a reliable, resource-conserving, and economical provision and use of energy within our company.
To implement these goals, we are introducing an energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001 and are implementing all requirements of this standard correctly and comprehensively in all areas of our company.
Our main goal is the continuous improvement of energy efficiency, energy use, the energy management system, and process technology. This is achieved using the best possible technology.
A continuous increase in efficiency is ensured through the standardization of energy-efficient machines and apparatus, energy-saving motors, lighting fixtures, or the installation of frequency converters—to name just a few examples.
Furthermore, we verify that:
- the necessary financial, personnel, professional, and structural requirements are ensured;
- compliance with relevant legal obligations is taken into account;
- the internal organization for the control and implementation of energy-relevant aspects is constantly improved;
- all employees are integrated into the implementation of the energy management system, are fully informed, and responsibilities are defined;
- all employees (also applies to external contractors / service providers) are sensitized to energy-conscious behavior at the workplace (site of operation);
- energy is used sparingly and responsibly in the company, so that the consumption of energy raw materials in the company takes place in the sense of sustainable resource use, in particular to extend the availability of fossil fuels for useful purposes;
- the manufacture of our products takes place in energy-efficient plants and that energy efficiency is guaranteed for new processes in the area of production and product processing;
- technical measures to promote energy and cost efficiency in the production plants and during loading operations are correctly implemented and executed;
- products and services that are as energy-efficient as possible are procured and energy-related services are taken into account in long-term planning;
To ensure and achieve our goals:
- energy data is regularly determined and evaluated;
- energy flows are recorded, kept transparent, and up-to-date as far as possible and economically feasible;
- energy-saving measures are planned and introduced; and
- the results of energy-saving measures are evaluated at regular intervals;
- results are verified through energy audits;
- energy team meetings are held and the results of energy performance are assessed in a management review by the management board.
Our organization ensures that all necessary information to achieve the goals is available. In this context, the energy policy issued by us forms the framework for the strategic and operational individual goals set.
Furthermore, an annual budget is made available. The prerequisite for this is that existing resources and time are used as effectively as possible and that a pragmatic approach is found for this purpose.
The persons commissioned with optimization and implementation are simultaneously part of the energy team and coordinate with the management board at least annually regarding projects and relevant topics.
We regularly communicate this energy policy to our employees, suppliers, and service providers. We commit to reviewing our energy policy annually and initiating necessary corrections.
Our operational goals are:
- to purchase energy sources at the most economical costs
- to use energy sources as efficiently as possible
- to reduce pollution and, in particular, greenhouse gas emissions caused by our energy consumption
- wherever possible, to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels through the use of renewable energy sources
Our strategic goal is:
We want to gain control over our energy consumption by regularly reviewing our purchasing and operating habits and improving them as much as possible. In addition, we want to identify optimization opportunities more quickly and thus implement them more efficiently through automated and intelligent monitoring with the help of MSR (Measurement, Control and Regulation) technology.
Our energy management goal is:
The interest, both for internal processes and for our customers and partners, to provide evidence of energy-conscious and environmentally friendly production as well as environmentally compatible products. Furthermore, the high energy costs incurred in meeting operational energy requirements, especially in production, are to be minimized.
The energy management system requires the participation of all employees.
Trigema W. Grupp KG commits to identifying and documenting the existing potential for improving energy efficiency and reducing costs. To this end, an energy concept has already been developed since 2022 together with the partner company Alois MĂĽller GmbH, which is to be implemented in the coming years.
The analysis results in measures that lead to energy and cost savings. These measures are to be monitored for their effectiveness. At the same time, Trigema W. Grupp KG is required to keep track of innovative solutions in order to adapt them to its own business practice if necessary. This is the only way a continuous improvement process can be realized. Should changes to the energy policy become necessary, a revision will take place. The energy policy is reviewed at least annually to determine the need for changes.
