As Germany's largest manufacturer of sports and leisurewear, trigema has traditionally stood for state-of-the-art technology and for preserving Germany as a production location. We are proud to have maintained a four-stage production process – from fabric to the finished garment – on the Swabian Alb to this day!
We work with modern technology and continuously invest in improving and optimising our production processes, particularly with regard to wastewater treatment.
For People & the Environment – Production in Germany
At our main plant, we produce all of the electricity we require ourselves using two gas turbines and two combined heat and power units. The waste heat generated in the process is used to produce steam, which is then used in our textile finishing processes, to heat our main plant and to heat our Test Store in Burladingen. In this way, we make full use of the heat generated as a by-product of electricity production.
Renewable energy is also an important topic for trigema. Since 2007, we have been producing solar power across a total area of 6,000m², which is fed into the grid and partly used by us directly. From autumn 2023, this area was expanded to include additional parts of our main plant in Burladingen, meaning that all roofs at our production sites are now fully covered.
The topic of sustainability at trigema includes, among other things, our production process and the careful selection of suppliers, partners and raw materials. Challenges in the textile industry include working conditions in factories and the handling of natural resources. Developments and trends within the industry are alarming, as even „Fast Fashion“ is no longer considered the benchmark. Instead, the industry is moving towards „Ultra Fast Fashion“ and even „Real-Time Fashion“ – fashion available to everyone at any time and at extremely low prices.
High-Quality Clothing – 100% Made in Germany
Production in Germany is carried out in accordance with the regulations and guidelines applicable here. Essential production steps at trigema take place within Germany.
Our high-quality clothing is produced in Germany. Although a high-quality trigema product may initially appear more expensive than some other offers, destruction of goods is not an option at trigema, even in the case of returns. Wherever possible, the products continue to be used.
In addition to our own quality controls, we have all textile garments produced in-house, from size 104 to 5XL, certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. Through the additional certification with STeP by OEKO-TEX®, our entire collection is also certified according to Made in Green by OEKO-TEX®. In addition, all trigema products are certified with the government-backed Green Button label for sustainable textiles.
Sustainability at trigema – Topics and Developments
We know that preserving ecosystems and developing products for the future are important tasks of our time. trigema has been working on environmental and resource-related topics in textile production for many years.
Back in 2006, in cooperation with the EPEA environmental institute, the world's first compostable T-shirt based on the Cradle-to-Cradle® principle was created – a genuine pioneering achievement. Building on this success, from 2012 onwards we expanded our range with the trigema Change® collection, introducing a new organic fashion segment as well as a Cradle to Cradle® Gold line. This collection, which consisted of 100% organic cotton, still has a firm place in our range today as the trigema Organic & Recycled collection and is continuously being expanded, for example with products made from 100% recycled cotton or with a proportion of recycled cotton.

Through the development and application of new production processes, the Cradle-to-Cradle® principle enables us to implement the requirements of the Cradle-to-Cradle® standard for materials and production processes in appropriately certified products.
