All business partners guarantee compliance with the principles set out in this Code of Conduct. Textile materials supplied by the suppliers comply with STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.
2. Compliance with laws
All business partners of TRIGEMA must comply with national legal provisions, in particular labour and social legislation, as well as environmental protection regulations. Employment agreements or similar measures must not circumvent the Code of Conduct.
3. Corporate values
Essential prerequisites for the success of TRIGEMA are competence, commitment and responsible action of all employees. The company's mission statement emphasizes responsibility towards people and nature as well as fairness and tolerance.
These include the following principles:
- Legal and ethical conduct. Compliance with and observance of legal and cultural framework conditions
- Dealing with employees and third parties is fair, courteous and respectful
- The interests of customers and business partners are duly taken into account
- Social commitment
- All forms of discrimination based on sex, race, religion or any other characteristic shall be avoided
- Professionalism, fairness and reliability are paramount in all business relationships
4. Dealing with employees and business partners
All employees and workers must be treated with respect and dignity without exception. Any form of physical punishment, psychological, sexual or verbal harassment and abuse, and any other form of intimidation is prohibited. Disciplinary measures must not violate national legislation and internationally recognised human rights. Employees who lodge a complaint alleging violations of the provisions of this Code of Conduct or of national laws shall not be subject to any form of disciplinary action.
Relationships with our business partners should be characterised by mutual reliability and sustainability. Business partners expect from us sincerity in our actions, courtesy in our dealings, respect and fairness. This includes making decisions and communicating them in a transparent and comprehensible manner. In the same way, these principles are exemplified by the management vis-à-vis the employees and observed by the employees among themselves.
5. Non-discrimination
We do not tolerate any kind of discrimination. All employees and workers must be treated equally. No one shall be harassed or discriminated against on the grounds of race, colour, nationality, descent, sex, sexual identity, religion or belief, political opinion, age, physical constitution or appearance. Every employee is obliged to respect the personal sphere of other employees. Sexual harassment and bullying are prohibited.
6. Working hours
The regulation of working hours is governed by national labour legislation and the basic principles developed by the International Labour Organisation (ILO). These include freedom of association, the right to collective bargaining, the elimination of forced and child labour and the prohibition of discrimination in employment and occupation.
7.Remuneration
All contractors shall ensure that workers and employees are paid at least the legal or industry-standard minimum wage, whichever is higher. Overtime must be compensated by statutory or industry-standard surcharges. The wage paid should be sufficient to cover the basic needs of the workers. All employees must receive at least the statutory social benefits.
Illegal and unjustified wage deductions as a direct or indirect disciplinary measure are prohibited. In addition, employees and manual workers must be regularly informed of the full composition of their pay in a way that they can understand. Wages must be paid in a manner convenient to the employee (e. g. by cheque or bank transfer).
8. Documentation of the terms and conditions of employment
The employment must be based on a formal document such as an employment contract or employment letter. The business partners guarantee the written documentation of the working conditions. This document must provide information on the terms and conditions of employment, including wages, period and payment, pension benefits, entitlement to leave and notice period. Circumvention of applicable labour and social security standards is prohibited, as is circumvention of the code of conduct through bogus training programmes, contract work or similar methods.
9. Occupational health and safety
Safety at work is a fundamental principle for TRIGEMA. All contractors and employees are expected to comply with safety regulations, be aware of the risks and participate in all safety-related activities. This applies to all hazards that may arise at the workplace of employees. Accidents detected or hazards and loads considered possible, as well as near-miss accidents, must be reported immediately to the responsible supervisor.
The management of the business units is responsible for establishing and monitoring a security organization. Each supervisor is responsible for the protection of his employees and has to instruct, train and supervise them accordingly. All managers are required to carry out risk assessments in order to identify and evaluate hazards and burdens for humans. This includes the organisation of occupational health insurance.
10. Protection of the environment
TRIGEMA is committed to protecting our environment as a corporate goal and declares the resource-efficient production of all products to be a production factor to be observed. The following principles apply to environmental protection:
- We protect our environment, use all natural resources sparingly and avoid or reduce impacts on people and nature
- We consider the requirements of an intact environment in the development and design, manufacturing process, packaging and shipping of our products, as well as in the improvement of processes and the introduction of new equipment and products.
- We also expect our business partners to comply with all laws and regulations for the protection of people and the environment.
Training on environmental protection is an integral part of employee qualification programmes. Waste disposal shall be carried out in accordance with the most environmentally friendly and economically viable method of disposal. In the event of incidents that may result in environmental pollution, the competent authorities of the company must be informed immediately and comprehensively and, in turn, must arrange for the reports required by law to be made to the authorities.
11. Freedom of association
It is the right of employees and workers to form or join a workers' organisation or trade union of their choice for the purpose of collective bargaining.
12. Information and communication
This Code of Conduct shall be freely accessible to all employees of the business partners (if applicable in the respective national language) and shall be displayed prominently. Any person who becomes aware of any violation of this Standard or active violation of the rights set forth and affirmed herein is encouraged to contact TRIGEMA directly and notify us of any possible violation.
