The trigema Organic & Recycled Collection
Since 2006, we have been producing textiles as part of the trigema Organic & Recycled collection (formerly trigema Change®), including Cradle to Cradle® Gold certified products. Products that meet the strict requirements for the label can be identified by the „Cradle to Cradle“ tag in the top right-hand corner of the respective product preview image. The Cradle to Cradle® concept is inspired by natural systems and focuses on the use of materials in circular cycles. The Cradle to Cradle® Gold certification confirms that the correspondingly labelled product meets the requirements of the stated certification level. Depending on the underlying version of the standard, criteria assessed include material health and product circularity.
trigema Organic & Recycled – Organic Cotton and Circularity
The trigema Organic & Recycled collection includes sports and leisurewear made from 100% organic cotton, optimised according to Cradle to Cradle®, as well as a blend of organic cotton and recycled cotton in the case of recot²® quality. All Cradle to Cradle® certified trigema Organic & Recycled products were optimised for the biological cycle in cooperation with the international environmental institute EPEA Switzerland.
For the jointly developed Cradle to Cradle® certified products, this means that they:
- are optimised for the biological cycle
- are assessed according to the requirements of the respective Cradle to Cradle® certification level
- are evaluated in terms of their materials and ingredients according to the criteria of the standard
- are of particularly high quality
The ingredients are designed for contact with the skin. The materials and resources used are assessed as part of the Cradle to Cradle® certification according to the respectively applicable criteria. The correspondingly labelled products are Cradle to Cradle® certified and optimised for the biological cycle. What Requirements Does the trigema Organic & Recycled Collection Meet?
A significant proportion of trigema products from the Organic & Recycled collection are Cradle to Cradle® Gold certified. This means that these certified products are assessed according to several criteria of the standard.
Depending on the underlying version of the standard, these include, for example:
- material health and assessment of ingredients
- product circularity
- energy and emissions aspects of production
- water and soil management
- social criteria
