What qualification do you need as an industrial clerk?
For the training you should have at least a good secondary school leaving certificate (secondary school leaving certificate), a technical college entrance qualification or a high school diploma.
What requirements should you bring with you?
Are you interested in commercial and economic processes and would you like to find out how a company is organized? Do you enjoy working on your PC and don't have any problems using MS Office? German, English and math were your favorite subjects at school? Then you already have the most important requirements for training as an industrial clerk!

How long does training to become an industrial clerk take?
The duration of the training is 3 years. If you perform well at work and at school, you can apply to shorten the duration of your training.
When does training to become an industrial clerk begin?
The training always begins in September of the respective year.

How does the application process work?
The application process for the industrial clerk basically goes like this: You send us your complete application documents consisting of a cover letter, CV, certificates and, if necessary, other references such as certificates either by email or as an application folder. However, the quickest way is to use our application form.

Once you have uploaded all documents, you will immediately receive a confirmation of receipt. We will check your documents carefully and if you have piqued our interest, we will invite you to meet us in person.

During this first meeting, we would like to get an idea of what makes you tick as a person, whether we are a good fit and whether we pursue the same values and goals. If there is sympathy from both sides, you will receive an invitation to do a trial work.

You will get to know your area of responsibility and your working environment with your future colleagues and get an impression of what it is like to work in our open-plan office.

If both sides can still imagine working together in the future, you will receive a corresponding offer from us.
What do you earn as an industrial clerk in training?
During your training to become an industrial clerk, you will earn €1,310 gross per month in the first year of your apprenticeship. In the second year of the apprenticeship the salary increases to €1,360, which is €1,445 in the third year of the apprenticeship.

Where do you work as an industrial clerk?
As an industrial clerk, you can take on a variety of tasks in the management of an industrial company. You will go through all relevant areas to get a comprehensive overall impression and learn how one wheel intersects with the other.

You will learn about the different processes and interrelationships within the individual departments as well as between the different departments. This gives you an ideal opportunity to find out which field of activity you could envisage for your future after your training.

The most important areas are purchasing, financial accounting, marketing and sales.

From office supplies to raw materials for production, purchasing covers the entire procurement process. In addition, the Purchasing Department takes care of the quality control of the ordered goods as well as the complaint of defects if an order has not been executed in accordance with the contract, i. e. a delivery is delayed or is not free of defects.

Sales and Marketing (consisting of e-commerce and advertising) are responsible for the sale of products to private and business customers as well as the related sales promotion measures.

At the heart of every commercial profession, financial accounting, all processes converge. Here the business accounts are booked and managed, the success is measured and the balance sheets as well as the profit and loss account are drawn up.

In addition, you will get to know other departments such as order processing, shipping and receipt of goods and gain insight into the production of our high-quality garments. During your apprenticeship, you will learn all the operational processes you need to implement your activities.

In addition to these activities, you will of course get to know your colleagues, actively support them in everyday tasks and help with the planning and coordination of projects.
What do you do as an industrial merchant?
While you go through the different departments of your training, you will be able to work independently and contribute your own ideas at an early stage. This way you can quickly take on responsibility for various tasks, but of course you always have the department heads, trainers and colleagues on your side to support you in the best possible way.

In addition to general tasks such as planning projects such as the education fair in Balingen, you will learn about diverse and specific activities within the individual departments:

Purchasing: Purchasing goods, asking for quotations, comparing suppliers, negotiating and placing orders, checking invoices, posting price changes in the system and managing suppliers

Financial accounting: record and book cash receipts such as the daily EC payments in the test shops or cash outflows e. g. from accounts payable, regularly monitor payment receipts and check receipts

Marketing – e-commerce: Supervision of the online shop, i. e. maintaining products and carrying out tests, insight into the content creation and planning of the various social media channels, getting to know all areas of online marketing, planning and executing your own newsletter campaign depending on your performance

Marketing – Advertising: support for photo shoots for the different collections Edit images, create flyers and videos, create and send catalogs for the respective year

Logistics: Here the ordered goods are packed, the invoice is drawn up and the parcel is stamped.

Sales: writing quotations, handling special orders (embroidery, screen printing, transfer, etc. ) and complaints, answering requests Acceptance of goods: processing returns, creating and booking credits, managing material stock
How does the training to become an industrial clerk work?
In order to be able to impart as wide a range of knowledge and skills as possible, you will complete all commercial departments during your apprenticeship.

A training unit takes an average of three months before you move to the next department.

At the end of your training, you choose your subject area for the final exam at the IHK. In the third year of your apprenticeship, you will spend six months in the appropriate department to prepare your examination project.

The departments are roughly divided over the three years of apprenticeship as follows:

1st year of apprenticeship: order processing, production flow, test business, acceptance of goods, advertising

2. and 3rd year of apprenticeship: e-commerce, IT, purchasing, financial accounting, sales
Where's the vocational school? How often do you go to vocational school?
The vocational school for the academic part of the training to become an industrial clerk (m/f/d) is the vocational school centre in Hechingen. You have 1. 5 days of school per week for all academic years. On half of the school days you work in the afternoons in the company. During the school holidays you work full time in the company.
Which subjects are important for an industrial clerk?
In addition to general subjects such as German, English and community studies, vocational subjects such as Business Administration (BWL), Economics and Accounting (Control & Control) are also taught. In the first year, computer science is also part of the curriculum.
How does the interim examination work at the industrial clerk?
The intermediate examination usually takes place in the Stadthalle in Balingen. The current state of knowledge is queried from both the company and the school.
How does the final audit work at the industrial clerk?
Once you have completed all the departments, at the end of the training period, the written final examinations in the vocational school will be held, which ask for the contents learned from the school subjects. On the other hand, the final oral examination at the IHK is also scheduled.

At the end of the training, you select your subject area for the final exam at the IHK with the support of the instructors. A 15-minute presentation will take place on these topics followed by an expert discussion.

What can you do as an industrial clerk after your training?
After your training, for example, you can work directly as a case officer in all economic areas. In addition, you can aim for specialist further training as a balance sheet accountant, specialist economist, etc. or, depending on your school diploma, various training and further training courses as a business economist.

If you later want to train your own trainees in your specialist areas, you can complete the trainer certificate to become a commercial trainer.
What promotion and further education opportunities do you have at TRIGEMA after your apprenticeship?
After your training, for example, you can work directly as a case officer in one of the departments you have completed. Likewise, the usual training and further education opportunities for the profession are open to you as a business economist, balance-sheet accountant, specialist economist, etc.
