The birth of trigema
The brothers Josef and Eugen Mayer buy a decommissioned factory in Burladingen and found the knitwear factory Gebr. Mayer
1920s
Shaped by the changing times, the knitwear factory Gebr. Mayer KG expanded rapidly in order to meet the high demand for underwear.
1930s
With the most modern machinery and continuous optimizations all the way to self sufficiency, the knitwear factory Gebr. Mayer developed into a large scale enterprise.
1940s
The company suffers heavy losses due to the dismantling of its machinery. The resumption of production and the currency reform lead to expansion in the anniversary year.
1950s
The employees are the heart of the knitwear factory Gebr. Mayer KG, which is why improvements to social benefits are implemented. Since its founding, the company has been among the most important of its time. Following the death of company founder Josef Mayer, his son in law Franz Grupp takes over management of the company.
1960s
Franz Grupp expands the product range due to the stagnating underwear market. The company diversifies and takes on substantial debt.
1969
Son Wolfgang Grupp takes over management and realigns the company under the name trigema. He decides to lead the company following the example of his maternal grandfather.
1970s
After diversification is ended and the realignment is implemented, trigema is doing well again. Debts are fully repaid. Existing buildings are modernized.
1980s
Continuous optimizations are implemented in order to become as self sufficient as possible. The concept of test stores is born in order to take over the retail function directly.
1990s
Sustainability, standing by the company family, and loyalty to the production location Germany become part of trigema’s corporate philosophy. Wolfgang Grupp is honored for his actions and services to the state.
2000s
trigema expands its retail function through an online shop. During this decade, the focus is especially on innovative products, shaped by sustainable action.
2010s
trigema receives global attention through trigema Change. The next generation joins the company. Digitalization progresses and optimizes workflows; additional advertising media are implemented. The trigema company family celebrates its 100th anniversary. Production halls are expanded.
2019
trigema celebrates its 100th anniversary
2020s
By remaining committed to the production location Germany, trigema receives major attention. As a result, the company is asked for rapid support during the coronavirus pandemic.
2024
Wolfgang Grupp hands over trigema to the next generation.
2025
trigema continues to evolve under the new leadership.
